BIOGRAPHY

Trained at the Boulle school in Paris, Laura Demichelis obtained a diploma in artistic crafts specializing in bronze work in 2010. Her diploma piece, "Dérive" won first national prize in the Inma competition, with the support of the Riboud Foundation, and was exhibited many times.

After several years in the workshops of designer Van Der Straeten in Paris, where she worked on the manufacture of bronze furniture, she left for a year-long reporting trip to Asia, focusing on bronze crafts and Vietnamese art foundry techniques.

She moved to Berlin, where her two-year collaboration with designer Stefan Leo opened up the field of new techniques and materials, such as leather, parchment and glass, and reinforced her design choices.

In 2016, she created "Atelier Demichelis" for which she designs and manufactures contemporary bronze lighting and furniture. Her unique creations, or in small series entirely handmade in her workshop in the heart of Toulouse, are all signed and numbered.

His inspirations come from his travels, nature and the world around him on a daily basis, as long as he tells stories.
